WORD is Leicester’s premiere spoken word event, open to poets, storytellers, performers and writers of all kinds to come along and share their work with others. featuring a regular open mic, a headline act every month and the world famous WORD raffle.
Jacob Sam-La Rose is a poet, writer, playwright and educator of Guyanese heritage. A former Poet-in-Residence at BBC London, he is a touring writer with the British Council. His programme of international appearances has taken him as far afield as Kiasma, the Museum of Contemporary Art (Finland), Chicago State University, Mylos Theatre (Greece) and the Center of Contemporary Art in Glasgow, amongst others
