Derby’s Festival of Words is a bi-annual event, bringing you 12 days of fantastic events featuring poetry, novels, storytelling and much, much more.
This year’s Festival features nights with two of the UK’s best-loved poets, John Hegley and Ian McMillan, plus Laura Thompson with ‘An English Mystery’, a superb new biography of Agatha Christie. You’ll also be able to take part in a range of other activities including Books Fizz- speed dating for books and our first Classic Dr Who night. There are also many events for writers including the Writers Networking Evening and Writing Group Showcase.
